Petra Moran, President
SF Role:
Petra serves as Story Forum’s Board President, working alongside our Executive Director and board to support the work of Story Forum and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.
Why SF:
Petra became involved with Story Forum when she received multiple recommendations for her daughter, Lilly, to attend summer camp. She immediately saw her educational philosophy reflected in the work Story Forum did with children.
Current/Past Experiences:
Petra has worked as a teacher with students from first grade to preservice teachers. Petra began her teaching career in the Solon City Schools and as a gifted education teacher. She also taught in Glenview City Schools (Glenview, IL), as the Gifted Coordinator in the Strongsville City Schools, and at Orange High School before beginning her Educational Specialists degree in literacy. Since that time she has done adjunct faculty work at Cleveland State, Kent State, and Baldwin Wallace University.
Petra is a community volunteer and has served on the Sunbeam (Vocational Guidance Services), The Cleveland Museum of Natural History Women’s Committee, and as a Girl Scout troop leader.
Education:
Petra has a BS in Elementary Education, a MA in Educational Administration from Cleveland State University and an EdS from Kent State University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy. She also has endorsements in Gifted Education and Reading.
