Mike Meyers

SF Role:

Mike serves on Story Forum’s Board of Directors. His duties include fundraising, sponsor recruitment, and donor identification.

Why SF:

Mike believes Story Forum is providing a unique service for all students and anticipates long lasting impact as a result.

Current/Past Experiences:

Mike currently works as an Intervention Specialist at Sunbeam Elementary in Cleveland. He teaches in a self-contained classroom with students grades 2-4. He previously worked at Summit Academy Community Schools – Parma where he taught high school, middle school, and second grade special Ed. . At Summit academy he created a Minecraft Club, football club, and coached the basketball team. Mike also tutors after school and specializes in test preparation for the various Ohio exams. Previously Mike worked as a sociotherapist at Hillside for at-risk children in a residential community. He serves on the board and is a member of the Larchmere Community Garden. Mike is also involved at Fairmount Presbyterian Church where he serves on the Stewardship Committee and acts as a confirmation mentor.

Education:

Mike received his master’s degree at Cleveland State University as an Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate and attended St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York where he received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
