Lisa Cremer

SF Role:

Lisa serves as a member of the Board of Directors, and furthers the work of Story Forum through the Governance and Nominating, Development, and PR and Outreach committees. Her talent for making connections throughout the community is invaluable.

Why SF:

Most importantly, because her three daughters love it! Further, because she is passionate about the importance of social and emotional learning, and believes it is the missing piece in our modern educational curriculum.

Current/Past Experiences:

Lisa currently serves on the Shaker Heights Board of Education and is a PTO volunteer for her three daughters. Lisa also is involved with the nonprofit Girls on the Run of Northeast Ohio as a coach and site liaison and loves leading book discussions with her daughters through the Girls Leadership Book Club. She started working with kids during her undergraduate education, working in a public elementary school in an autism classroom. She then continued to work with children with autism and their families in a private school and then as a research coordinator trying to understand the neurobiology of autism. Lisa also has worked and conducted research in the mental health field, in particular in underserved communities and individuals with dual diagnoses.

Education:

Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and masters degrees in social work with a focus on Clinical Practice and public health with a focus on Health Policy and Management, both from Boston University.
