Emily Geier, Vice President

SF Role:

Emily serves as Story Forum’s Vice President working alongside our Executive Director to create enriching age appropriate programs furthering the mission and vision of the organization.

Why SF:

She is an advocate for children and families and a content expert in helping young people find strategies for academic, emotional, and social development.

Current/Past Experiences:

Emily currently works at the Shaker Heights Middle School providing social/emotional individual and group counseling services as part of the Student Support Team. Previously, Emily was the founding director of the Women’s Re-Entry Network in Cleveland. Under the auspices of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, WREN was a private, non-profit program serving incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children through a holistic range of social, mental health, employment, educational and advocacy services. She has served on the boards of Family Connections and Heights Youth Center, and has recently joined the board of Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County.

Education:

Emily is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with a master’s degree from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at CWRU, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley.
